Contract Manager coal mining business

Straits Asia Resources Limited (SARL) is listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, has a market capitalization of S$3.5 billion. SARL has both coal mining business and construction business more than 10 years. In coal mining business, SARL has 2 coal producing projects in Indonesia (Sebuku project, South Kalimantan and Jembayan project, East Kalimantan). In construction business, SARL has 3 projects in Indonesia (marine engineering, civil engineering, and transshipment). SARL is employing more than 1000 employees in Indonesia and Singapore and working with the high international safety standard. SARL is bringing the work and benefits to local communities and environmental rehabilitation.

Due to our continued expansion and recently announced acquisitions, we are seeking the services of a suitably qualified and experienced candidate for below position in one of our many projects


Requirements:
  • Male / Female, min. 28 years of age.

  • Min. Bachelor Degree in Law, Master Degree is advantage.

  • Strong knowledge & background experiences in Group of company in managerial level.

  • Familiar & has in-depth knowledge in analyzing law requirements and commercial aspects, drafting legal documents, providing legal advices upon legal disputes settlement as well as Indonesian Legal system with its substance.

  • Work location in Jakarta Office, must be willing to travel frequently.



Responsibilities:
  • Identify and analyze a pool of clients / suppliers / vendors for company project consideration

  • Assist in the negotiation of contracts with an optimum mix of price and quality

  • Assess the quotations submitted and selecting the bidders with which the commercial/financial negotiations may be conducted

  • Set targets as to the result to be achieved in price negotiations

  • Conduct the financial and contract negotiations at the appropriate management level

  • Identify and analyze economic developments in the market

  • Manages the competitive bidding and selection process

  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with the clients / suppliers / vendors are commercially advantageous

  • Clarify goals and reach agreement maintaining the interests of all parties

  • Keep up to date with market trends and new developments utilizing information for business improvement

  • Ability to overview situations, review and evaluate, defining set plans to achieve company business goals.

  • Problem solving at a strategic level, working with others to reach a resolution.
