System Engineer (Jakarta/Telecom Industry)

This position is part of the regional technical services team in Asia. This position is based in Jakarta. This position will also require the candidate to travel (mainly Singapore) for regional projects.

Job Description

Will be expected to analyze, manage, plan, implement IT infrastructure. Work collaboratively with other members of the project team and the project manager to ensure deadlines and high quality delivery of the application in line with customer’s business requirements.

He or she will be familiar and confident in performing the following roles as a member of a group of software engineers in a project:

• Manage all IT infrastructure system installation, implementation and configuration that is being assigned
• Liaise with clients and vendors to identify user requirement
• As appropriate, develop and maintain proper defined documentation necessary to maintain and support the IT Infrastructure
• Strict adherence and system configuration management procedures for changes to IT infrastructure system
• Provide necessary support to other team members as required to help deliver systems on schedule and with high quality.

Requirement:

• The candidate should have some or all the following skills;
• Bachelors or Masters in Software engineering or IT
• Working knowledge with Sun Solaris, Linux, Windows 2003 or later System Administration
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, application software, network hardware and software
• Working knowledge with Enterprise Backup System installation, configuration and Acceptance Test
• Able to troubleshoot any hardware (IBM, hp, Dell etc) and backup solutions (Symantec Veritas, Acronis, CA Arcserve, Mcafee and Trendmicro etc)
• Having skill in UNIX System Administration, Shell Scripting and standard UNIX-based application implementation (JBoss, Apache, MySQL, etc)
• Having skill in Windows System Administration and Windows scripting
• Having skill in Operation System (Solaris Sun, Linux and Windows) Security Hardening and Security Patching
• Plan and perform appropriate procedure, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to IT
• Plan and perform System and Database (Microsoft SQL and Oracle) disaster recovery plan and documentation
• Ability to work independently
• Approx. 2- 4 years experience
• Self-motivated and good project management, interpersonal & communication skills
• Ability to communicate in English.
