My client is a US MNC and they are seeking to hire an experienced Field Service Engineer for VAS applications, working with mobile operator customers. They are seeking an engineer on a 6-month contract role, to be placed under the headcount of their partner in Indonesia.
The FSE is responsible to maintain high level of system availability. Provide remote problem analysis and resolution.
Job Responsibilities:1.1 FSE Malfunction Responsibilities
- Remote & On site analysis and troubleshooting
- Case data verification
- Executing FCOs (Field Change Order)
- High level system and application support.
- Communicate with customer the resolution description of system faults.
- Tech alert initiation and writing
- H/W faults – analysis of faulty component (FRU)
- Provide periodical report (open and closed cases) to the customer
- Install SW Maintenance Release and Patch
- Assist in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) (in relevant cases)
- Consulting to various technical functions in the company (Project Managers, Product Engineers, Programmers, TMs, etc).
- Assist in site survey
- Assist in remote upgrades
- On site major upgrades.
- On site Installation of new systems
- On site and remote system/ licenses expansions
- SOW (Statement of Work) writing
Skill sets required:
- VAS technologies. In particular SMSC, MMSC, RBT and Voice Mail.
- SS7 and\or Sigtran signaling. In particular ISUP, TCAP, MAP, CAP3, M3UA.
- Oracle database and SQL
- UNIX and\or Linux (install, configuration and administration)
- TCP\IP networking
- Intel, SUN and HP Hardware (troubleshooting and part replacement)
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment spanning different timezones
- Flexibility to work in abnormal hours (between 9PM to 9AM) if required sometimes
- On-call 24\7 in case of technical problems
- Good follow-up and escalation skills
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Fluent in English
- Able to work unsupervised and self-motivated
Education level required :
University degree
Experience required:
Prior experience in support with voicemail, Billing, MMS, SMS
