Network Administrator
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Network administration (including backup, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
- Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
- Installation of hardware and software and ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
- Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
- Performs technology needs analysis.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years on a medium sized network of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies.
SKILLS
- Ability to provide technical support
- Ability to maintain operating systems - Linux (Redhat,Suse) , Windows 2003/2000, Windows XP.
- Knowledge & Experience in Windows servers and desktop products.
- Experience in Network Protocols & Hardware: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN Ethernet, ISDN, Cisco routers, Switches.
- Demonstrated ability to administer a 50+ node network including firewalls.
- Experience in setting up remote access for users.
- Knowledge of back-up processes and procedures
- Knowledge of database technology-ORACLE 10g, SQL Server
- Knowledge of network security (eg. VPN)
- Demonstrated ability to support networked printers and photocopiers.
- Installation & Support for Microsoft Packages: MS Office, MS Project, MS VSS
- Ability to negotiate hardware/software service and technical support contracts with vendors.
- Knowledge of web server technology (eg. Internet Information services, SQL Server)
