MEDIA RELATION SUPERVISOR (COM 0970),Gold Mine in North Sumatera

G-Resources is an Asia-Pacific gold company, based and listed in Hong Kong, and is operating the Martabe Gold Mine in North Sumatera.   The open cut mine, with an average strip ratio of less than 1.4:1, and a conventional processing circuit incorporating jaw crushing, SAG and ball milling and CIL, processes in excess of 4.5mtpa to produce greater than 250,000 ounces of gold and 3 million ounces of silver annually. The Martabe Gold Mine is striving to maintain an excellent track record in responsible mining practices, and clear commitment to compliance to mining regulations as well as developing and managing mining activities with the involvement of local communities.
To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

MEDIA RELATION SUPERVISOR (COM 0970)

This position will be based at Martabe Site and reports directly to Media Relations Superintendent.
Role of this position is responsible :
  • Maintain, nurture good relationship with media at Provincial and Local levels and other strategic alliances, liaise with, answer enquiries from media, individuals and institutions.
  • Provide creative ideas and innovative solutions to maintain positive public opinion and increase exposure opportunities
  • Prepare and disseminate PR supporting documents including approved press release, brief docs, articles, opinion, and ad-spots to printing, electronics and digital Media
  • Work closely with site-based Comms team members on the preparation of media visit, press conference, media briefing exhibitions, open days and other Communications-related events
  • Collate and analyse media coverage, distribute results to targeted people, review important issues and put a flag to news of a real concern
  • Work in tandem with Publications and Sponsorship Event Management units to monitor and contribute to the production of multiple communications mediums to disseminate and convey information to diverse stakeholder groups, such as brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, intranet/websites, photographs, film and multimedia programmes as well as to conceptualize branding awareness merchandise and promotional events
  • Support Media Relations Superintendent in ensuring adherence to communications policies, protocols, standard and branding of G to help promote positive exposure
Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experiences :
  • Degree in Communications/Journalism/Public Relations
  • Preferably an experienced staff with min 5 years experience in corporate Communication, journalism, and/or public relations-related field, in NGO’s, advertising, media or mining/energy-related industry
  • Good communication and writing skill in Bahasa Indonesia and English and the ability to draft and edit communications materials
  • Good administrations and organizational skills with attention to the smallest details and ability to manage multiple, simultaneous project and prioritized workload
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) and graphic design software program (Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator and iMovie/Movie Maker)
  • Strong ability to work and plan both independently and collaboratively and complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Highly motivated to work in demanding, very deadline-driven environment with the ability to work frequently under pressure and additional hours as job and peak business require
